The Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering, also known as the Wyss Center, is an independent, not for profit organization that provides the expertise, facilities and resources to transform creative neuroscience research into clinical solutions that will improve the lives of people with nervous system disorders. Our mission is to accelerate the development of neurotechnology for human benefit.

The Center’s integrated approach provides access to the latest neuroscience and engineering facilities, as well as the clinical, regulatory and business expertise required to guide high risk, high return projects on their journey from research to product.

Situated at Campus Biotech in Geneva, the Center benefits from the proximity and close links with two world-renowned universities, EPFL and University of Geneva.

The current director is retiring at the end of next year and the board of trustees of the Center is initiating a search for a new director.

He or she should have a solid scientific background, a proven record of excellence in performance or oversight of research and solid business experience, preferably gained globally. Considerable R&D responsibility and experience in start-up or venture capital are considered a plus.

We are looking for a strong leader and communicator, an excellent judge of research quality and commercial potential, who is able to build strong collaborations.

In this executive position, reporting only to the board of trustees, you will preside over the Wyss Center and represent it externally; work closely with project teams, prepare projects for further development and for review by the Advisory Board, and appoint the Wyss Center Staff. You oversee preparation of budgets, project and financial reports and the annual activity report.

The full-time position offers competitive compensation. The candidate should be willing to act as Director for at least one term of five years and start latest by January 2020.
