Sébastien Pernecker

Embedded Software Engineer | Wyss Center Neurotechnology Experts

Sébastien joined the Wyss Center as an embedded software engineer in 2017. He brings expertise in the design of hardware and software of medical devices to Wyss Center projects.

He holds a master’s degree in electronics and electrical engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland.


As an electrical engineer, he is experienced in developing medical and industrial electronic devices.

In his previous position his projects included a portable lung recorder with live streaming capabilities to monitor lung disease. In addition, he developed a device to monitor chewing and activity of teenage patients to predict their propensity to develop obesity.

Presently, he is excited to focus his expertise on subcutaneous implants currently being developed and many other neuroscience projects at the Wyss Center that can help people live a better life.
